Spring semester, junior students
Florence, Italy
The Florence Study Abroad program offers a full curriculum—design studio, architecture, urban and art history seminars, graphics workshop, Italian language, and local field trips—equivalent to the junior spring semester at Washington University. Florence is the birthplace of Western cultural modernity, which is fundamental to the study of architecture.
The program is open to 12 students and is taught by Washington University and local faculty. Students take advantage of the uniquely rich artistic and cultural environment, urban and architectural history, and contemporary aspects of one of Italy's major metropolitan areas. This program shares excellent facilities with the sophomore art program in the central area of Florence. Instruction is in English, except for language classes.
