Wallace Herndon Smith Distinguished Visiting Assistant Professor Lecture: Emmy Thelander

Emmy Thelander will deliver a public lecture as the Wallace Herndon Smith Distinguished Visiting Assistant Professor Lecture for spring 2018. Thelander is an artist who uses painting, video, installation, and drawing. She earned an MFA from Yale University in 2014 and a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010. She was the Fountainhead Fellow in Painting and Printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University for 2014-15, and has been awarded the Alice Kimball English Traveling Fellowship as well as residencies at Signal Culture, ACRE, The Osage Arts Community, and the Yale/Norfolk Summer School of Art. She's exhibited solo projects at Los Ojos (Brooklyn, New York), In The Pines (Jackson, Wyoming), and Reynolds Gallery (Richmond, Virginia).
