In this studio, each student develops a comprehensive design project that conveys an independent, critical position on the making of architecture in the world. This includes development of program spaces and relationships, development of structural and environmental systems, building envelope systems, life-safety issues, technical construction sections and assemblies, along with experiential renderings and a focus on telling a critical project story.

Based on the product of the preceding Design Thinking Degree Project Preparation—an individually initiated programmatic, intentional, and situational framework the student develops an aspiring and compelling conceptual framework, progresses to a convincing development of all aspects of the project (formal, spatial, experiential, organizational, structural, and technical) and creates a clear, full, and persuasive presentation of their work.
