John Dyess

Biography

John Dyess is a painter, illustrator, photographer, and teacher who has been creating art and illustration for over forty years. Clients include many major corporations and companies throughout the United States. His style is primarily realistic, using oil paint, pencil, watercolor, or pen and ink. In contrast, though, some of his most recent work features more conceptual images — though derived from realism — and combines photography and digital techniques.

Dyess' work has been represented in over thirty shows at the St. Louis Artists' Guild, and he is honored to have been recognized nationally by the New York Society of Illustrators and Communication Arts magazine. He has taught illustration and drawing at Washington University, Webster University, Meramec Community College, and Jefferson College.
