Biography

After graduating with an MFA from the University of Michigan, Robin VerHage worked for over twenty years as a costume designer in professional and academic performing arts. She worked with Jim Henson at Muppets in NYC, and her designs for companies such as the Hilberry Repertory in Detroit, Laterna Magika, Prague, and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis earned her international recognition. She now teaches textiles and fashion illustration as an associate professor at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University. Her current work involves finessing of her illustrated primer on Coco Chanel. Developing and educating about sustainable textiles is her passion and, she believes, all of our futures.
