Two programs are geared specifically to high school students. Portfolio Plus gives students the opportunity to earn college credit during a five-week introduction to the study and practice of making art. The Architecture Discovery Program provides students entering their senior year of high school with an introduction to architecture and design, with an emphasis on sustainability and the environment.
Other programs target individuals at the college level and beyond. The Collaborative Print: An Island Press Master Class with Trenton Doyle Hancock, is a three-week workshop providing undergraduate, graduates, and print professionals a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the environment of workshop printing at the Sam Fox School's Island Press.
Explore Architecture gives current college students and graduates who are interested in a career in architecture an intensive introduction to the field. Students learn about topics such as drawing, digital representation, architectural analysis, sustainable design, and design theory while developing high-quality work for inclusion in their portfolios
The Alberti Program-Architecture for Young People is a problem-solving studio workshop about architecture, community, and the environment for a select group of fourth- through ninth-grade students from St. Louis-area schools.
The Sam Fox School also sponsors several international programs that give students in both art and architecture the opportunity to spend the summer studying in Europe.
Our summer courses are open to current Washington University students, students from other colleges/universities, and adults seeking career advancement or creative enrichment.
