Laskey Charrette Kickoff Lecture: Yasmin Vobis
Yasmin Vobis (RA, NCARB)—co-principal of Ultramoderne, an architecture and design office located in Providence, RI, and an assistant professor of architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design—will deliver the Laskey Charrette Kickoff Lecture, titled A HAT IS A HOUSE. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
Vobis studied architecture at the University of California, Berkeley and at Princeton University, where she was awarded the Butler Traveling Fellowship and the Suzanne Kolarik Underwood Prize. She has practiced in the offices of Ogrydziak Prillinger Architects, Guy Nordenson and Associates Structural Engineers, and Steven Holl Architects. In addition, she has taught at Princeton University, Rhode Island School of Design, the Cooper Union, and Brown University. She was awarded the Founders/Arnold W. Brunner/Katherine Edwards Gordon Rome Prize in Architecture in 2016.
