D.B. Dowd Receives a professional gold "Addy"
A is for Autocrat, a book written and illustrated by professor D.B. Dowd, received a professional gold “Addy” for book design at the American Advertising Awards’ national event this summer. The work also earned multiple awards at the city and regional divisions. The book design was led by Scott Gericke with assistance from Emily Bielski (BFA20, MFA-IVC23). Lori Dowd of media agency StoryTrack served as senior editor.
Booth (MArch09) receives a 2021 AIA Maine Award
Patrick Boothe (MArch09) of Caleb Johnson Studio received an Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture from the 2021 AIA Maine Design Awards. The project, SeaWeed, Co., is an upscale, “Maine-made” cannabis shop.
Spring 2021 CityStudioSTL Student Awards
Undergraduate students Maxine Roeder (Sam Fox School), Shelei Pan (Arts & Sciences), and Miku Nambara (Engineering) received a CityStudioSTL Student Award in spring 2021 to support their project Made to Model, an adaptive fashion campaign and collaboration featuring models of all physical abilities. The team will work with WashU fashion design, engineering, and occupational therapy students to custom design dream dresses and suits for youth participants.
