Patterson Honored with Founders Day Award; Installation on View at Kemper Art Museum
Ebony G. Patterson (MFA06) was honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award at Washington University’s annual Founders Day celebration on November 6. Patterson is a prolific mixed-media artist whose multilayered works incorporate painting, sculpture, video, and performance. She is also a member of the Sam Fox School National Council. A new installation by Patterson, …in the waiting… in the weighting…, is now on view at the Kemper Art Museum.
Goldberg's Book Featured in New York Times
The New York Times spotlights Oaxacan Folk Art: Response to Covid-19. Edited and designed by Alan Eliot Goldberg (BArch54), FAIA, the book features Oaxacan folk art selected from a competition Goldberg organized among artists. Net proceeds from the book, which is available in English and Spanish editions, will go to the artists, and he is working to secure funding for a virtual exhibition.
Ryshke Publishes Collection of Poems & Artworks
Linnea Ryshke (MFA-VA20) recently published Kindling with Lantern Publishing and Media. The book is a collection of her poems, photographs, paintings, and drawings that center on a personal experience working at a small-family meat farm. She offers a gentle yet stirring perspective on the lives and deaths of nonhuman animals and the limitations and capacities for empathy and care.
Durham's Posters Featured in Exhibition at The Met
The exhibition Selections from the Department of Drawings and Prints: Revolution, Resistance, and Activism includes several posters by Ben Durham (BFA04). The show is on view through January 17 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Lima Delivers Pair of Book Lectures
Associate professor Zeuler Lima will be delivering a pair of lectures in conjunction with the release of his book Le Dea Stanca. Vita di Lina Bo Bardi (The Weary Goddess, Life of Lina Bo Bardi)—at the Milan Triennale (November 10) and at the University of Florence School of Architecture on (Nov. 12).
Hoeferlin Participates in Speculative Infrastructure Panel
Derek Hoeferlin, associate professor & chair of landscape architecture and urban design, is among the featured speakers taking part in the Speculative Infrastructure panel discussion, part of the Deep Dive: Great Lakes series, presented by the Chicago Humanities Festival & University of Illinois at Chicago Freshwater Lab. The event will take place at 12p CST November 13 at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts in Chicago.

Festival Les Instants Vidéo, Marseille, France, November 12 and at
St. Louis International Film Festival November 19.
