The Sam Fox School is pleased to share that Matthew Bernstine has been named the new Associate Director of the Sam Fox School’s Office for Socially Engaged Practice. He will begin serving in this role February 1, 2022, and also continue to teach as a lecturer in the Sam Fox School, while transitioning out of his position in the Office of the University Architect & Real Estate.
Bernstine is poised to build on the strong foundation of the Office and take it to the next level of national distinction, given his significant project management experience, as well as his passion for St. Louis and community engagement. As an alum, he knows the School well and has worked on many notable collaborative projects in St. Louis, with a demonstrated commitment to developing impactful partnerships. You can learn more about his work and background below.
The School would also like to thank Liz Kramer for her leadership of the Office for Socially Engaged Practice since its inception in 2014. Kramer has worked at the highest level to oversee the strategic direction of the Office, advance signature initiatives, and coordinate the efforts of our faculty, students, and staff within the St. Louis community. She has had a tremendous impact on both our WashU and St. Louis community, all while enhancing the School’s reputation as a model for engaged practice, teaching, research, and outreach. While she will no longer be working for the Office for Socially Engaged Practice, we look forward to seeing her on campus in her ongoing teaching role.
