Acayo Laker receives Gerry and Bob Virgil Ethic of Service Award
Assistant professor Penina Acayo Laker is a recipient of this year’s Gerry and Bob Virgil Ethic of Service Award. Founded during the University’s Sesquicentennial year, the award recognizes a select group of WashU community members who exemplify a character of service and engagement with the St. Louis region.
Heyda work published in Quarantine Atlas
Work by associate professor Patty Heyda was published in the book Quarantine Atlas (Black Dog & Leventhal Publishers, 2022). A project of Bloomberg CityLab, this poignant collection of maps and essays reveals how the coronavirus pandemic has transformed our physical and emotional worlds. It is also a celebration of wayfinding through a crisis that altered the way we experience our environment.
Price featured on PBS/WNET New York public media podcast
Sam Fox School research fellow Jenny Price was the featured guest on the PBS/WNET New York public media podcast The Sweaty Penguin, which focuses on climate change challenges and solutions. Price, a writer, public artist, and historian who works on environment and public space, is the author of the book Stop Saving the Planet: A 12-Step Guide for 21st-Century Environmentalists.
Palmerson named in San Antonio Business Journal's 40 Under 40 list
Ali Palmerson (BFA09), founder of two graphic design firms, was named to the San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list. Palmerson recently merged her second firm, Creative Parc, with Bradford Lawton to form Parallel, A Brand Agency.
