WashU Book Arts Workshop with WORK/PLAY
WashU students are invited to join us for a two-hour workshop on experimental book arts organized in conjunction with the exhibition Adam Pendleton: To Divide By. Led by artist Kevin McCoy (MFA 19) of WORK/PLAY, this hands-on workshop invites participants to produce their own publications using various source texts, images, and printing and other compositional analog techniques. The workshop will start with a discussion of Pendleton’s Who Is Queen? A Reader (2022), considering the central role of bookmaking, language, and poetry in the artist’s visual practice.
This event is designed in conjunction with the reading and conversation with poet Simone White on Friday, October 13 at 5:30 pm. Participants are encouraged to attend the reading.
No experience in writing or bookmaking required. Materials, including a copy of Who Is Queen? A Reader, will be provided.
Free and open to Washington University students. Space is limited.
The workshop has reached the maximum number of registrants. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please contact kempereducation@wustl.edu.
