Tell us about what you do.
I work as an attorney at a large law firm focusing in the development of affordable housing, and in public finance.

What does your typical day look like?
During the time of COVID-19 I work from home five days a week. My time is split between conference calls, speaking with colleagues, drafting documents, responding to emails, and doing legal research. Lots of time in front of a computer.

What do you love most about what you do?
At the end of the day what I do helps in the assembling of projects that serve others—namely affordable and safe housing.

What did you learn as an art student that you’d be lost without today?
Critical thinking. Taking a challenge, being able to see it from all sides and working through the best solution.

Must-have desk snack?
Apple and peanut butter.

What do you do when you’re not on the clock?
Put on music, pour a drink, and cook for loved ones.

What’s the biggest project you ever carried back from Bixby to the dorms?
A 4x5 view camera and entire lighting system that I was borrowing over winter break.

What is your favorite thing about St. Louis?
The people. Everyone, even people you meet in line in the supermarket, are interested in knowing you and helping.

What advice would you give to our students?
Choosing a major. Your first job. These are all small parts of a larger experience. Career, hobby, family, and friends. These all meld together. It is important to maintain each of them—to keep them in balance.
