Annette Helle



Annette Helle is serving as the fall 2022 Ruth & Norman Moore Visiting Professor of Architecture in the Sam Fox School. Born and raised in Oslo, she is an architecture graduate of ETH, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, in 1992.

In 2001 she founded HELLE ARCHITEKTUR (hellearchitektur.com) in Zurich. Her office is primarly concerned with residential projects of various scales. These include private commissions for new buildings and conversions as well as projects for cooperative housing developments resulting from competition successes.

Since 2010 she has been professor of design and construction at FHNW, University of Applied Sciences, in Basel. Her teaching includes theoretical topics and architectural concepts of urban design, typologies and constructions, with an emphasis on sustainability. From 2019 to 2022 she was the head of the Institute of Architecture.
