Dmitri Jackson



Dmitri Jackson is a graphic novelist, freelance illustrator, and teacher, as well as a Sam Fox School alum. He is an instructional technologist in the Sam Fox School, with a focus on technology and printing support in Communication Design, and previously taught the art of comics in the Communication Design program.

Dmitri’s work has been featured in the Riverfront Times, Curiosus Magazine, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. For the past decade, he’s managed Frotoon Press, an independent publisher of personal comic narratives exploring music, politics, culture, and identity. Dmitri’s work—inspired by Ben Passmore, Ralph Bakshi, Hunter S. Thompson, Spike Lee, Thelonius Monk, and The Simpsons—has been recognized with 11 Glyph Comics Award nominations and a 2019 National Indie Excellence Award for Comics and Graphic Novels.
