Dryden Wells



Dryden’s background, studio practice and devotion to craftsmanship, process, and problem solving in all materials makes him a valuable asset to the Sam Fox School. In the Walker Hall wood, metal and ceramic studios, Dryden is responsible for the implementation of safety protocols, shop orientation, facility maintenance, the integration of new tools and technology, and providing students support in their research.

Dryden actively pursues opportunities specific to the field of ceramics; in education, the production industry, and through travel. Upon the completion of his MFA in ceramics, he moved abroad to China. He spent nine years managing a ceramic design center and coordinating an education center in the city of Jingdezhen. Dryden lived and worked in Shanghai, teaching ceramic processes and creating production ware for various clients. Dryden has also taught ceramics in universities; Missouri State University, Northwest College, and University of West Florida.
