Livia Xandersmith



Livia Xandersmith is our new Undergraduate Programs Coordinator. She’s also a recent graduate, having earned her MFA in Visual Art in 2022. She also earned a BA in Studio Art and Art History from the University of Southern Indiana. While working on her Bachelor of Arts, she served as Assistant to the Director at MAC/PACE Galleries in Evansville, Indiana where her duties included communications and most administrative tasks, as well as aiding in exhibition install and deinstall. Her work has been in group exhibitions in St. Louis and Evansville, including at the Des Lee Gallery and the Kemper Art Museum, and she’s had three solo shows. She’s been a teaching assistant at both her alma maters, an instructor in the Portfolio Plus Program, and currently is adjunct painting faculty at UMSL. Livia is a surrealist painter who loves Flaming Hot Cheetos, houseplants, and reality TV and police dramas. She was named after the first Roman empress, Livia Drusilla.
