Emily Hellmuth



Emily Hellmuth serves as director of communications of the Sam Fox School at Washington University in St. Louis, a role she has held since 2022. She leads the strategy and execution of school-wide communications both internally and externally across all platforms and serves as the liaison to marketing and communications teams throughout the university.

Prior to the Sam Fox School, Hellmuth served in a variety of communications and administrative capacities for arts and nonprofit organizations in Missouri and Indiana, including the Arts and Education Council of Greater St. Louis, the Indianapolis Museum of Art (now Newfields), the Indiana Arts Commission, and the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis. From 2019 to 2022, she served as creative services manager at Werremeyer Creative, a St. Louis-based marketing agency specializing in healthcare marketing. At Werremeyer, she led a team of 15 to execute projects ranging from branding and print publications to video, digital marketing, and web design and development.

Hellmuth holds a BFA in painting and American culture studies from WashU and a master’s in arts administration from Indiana University. When she’s not working, she and her husband run Hellmuth Family Gardens, a micro cut flower business, from their home in Webster Groves.
