Claire Thomas-Morgan

Claire Thomas-Morgan is an alumna of Washington University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. After serving as a design and merchandising associate with a St. Louis-based company, she transitioned to visual merchandising with J.Crew while earning her Master of Fine Arts in Fashion Merchandising from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she had a dual focus on merchandising and fashion education. Her thesis centered around a business plan for a nonprofit children’s fashion education program. In 2014, Thomas-Morgan launched her own children’s wear line, Vivi Design Studio, which is a two-time Martha Stewart American Made Award nominee. Vivi Design Studio created the custom “H” logo dress that was worn by Hillary Clinton’s granddaughter, Charlotte, on election day in 2016.

Thomas-Morgan joined the Washington University fashion design faculty in 2009, and currently teaches Capstone 1, Digital Design, Portfolio Development, and Digital Fashion & Textile Design.
