Samuels Moderates Climate Change Event
Sam Baraso (BSBA08), program manager at City of Portland, Oregon, will share his knowledge of the Portland Clean Energy Benefits Fund (PCEF). This event will focus on understanding PCEF, its origins, its approach, and its focus on investing in climate actions that advance racial and social justice. Learn about its inaugural request for proposals and more. Associate professor Linda C. Samuels, RA, PhD, will moderate this event, which takes place from 2-3p CDT online. Register through the link.
Palm Beach Illustrated Q&A with Lucido

Nixon Illustrates First Children's Book
In this article, Leah Nixon (BFA11) discusses how the life-altering accident that left her a paraplegic has unexpectedly led to her career as a children’s book illustrator. Her first book, Best Day Ever!, written by acclaimed poet Marilyn Singer, debuted this June. Leah and her sister, Grace, are also the cofounders of the stationery company Tiny & Snail.
Bright's Work Featured in Vexillum
Architect and artist Jay Bright (BA68) has work featured in Vexillum issue 14. Bright, an education major, took many architecture classes during his time at the University, including several with the late professor emeritus Leslie J. Laskey.
Neuman Publishes New Book & Tarot Deck
BFA alum Alexandra Neuman has published a new book and tarot deck, radical becoming in the ongoing now (Onomatopee Projects). An official book launch, including tarot readings, will be hosted on July 18 at Miriam Gallery, as a part of Brooklyn Art Book Fair’s Sidewalk Sale Series.
Stamm Featured in G-CADD Show
Exhibition #26, a group show that includes work from Janie Stamm (MFA-VA19), opens from 6-10p July 17 at G-CADD in Granite City, IL. The exhibition remains on view through September 24.
